Pleione´s Maine Coon
Pleione’s maine coon cats is a small cattery. We only have 1 - 3 litters per year. We focus on quality rather than quantity. Therefore health is as important as temperament and looks.

We are a Danish family temporarily located in Erkelenz, Germany.

We endeavour to breed healthy cats with a lovely contact seeking and loving temper as well as a beautiful and breed-typical look.

Hereditary diseases
Because of the health issues I find it important to test my cats for several hereditary diseases. This is why they are all tested for HCM, HD, PKD and patella luxation. The four mentioned diseases are hereditary diseases which some maine coons unfortunately carry in their genes.

It is impossible to guarantee that a cat will not become ill. However only with testing for the abovementioned diseases, and only breeding on healthy cats, the best conditions are provided for the kittens to develop into first-rate wonderful cats.

Vaccination
Besides the testing all our cats are naturally vaccinated after the directions that are prevailing for vaccination cats and are checked by a veterinarian at least once a year. If there is the slightest doubt about the health of a cat, the cat is examined in clinical as well as laboratory settings in an approved animal hospital.
